You will be smiling this spring with a variety of storytimes, programs, reading clubs, and craft activities in the Children's Department. All
of our programs are free and open to all Cook Memorial Public Library District cardholders. Unless otherwise noted, all programs will take place in the Program Room of the Cook Park Library,
413 N. Milwaukee Avenue.
Imagine That!
Second Annual Creative Writing Contest
Use your imagination to write a story or poem and enter to win. Submit your best piece of creative writing to your school library or to any of the Cook Memorial Public Library District facilities by April 15. The contest is open to students in grades 4-8 and limited to one entry per student. Contest winners will be invited to a private pizza party with award-winning author Esther Hershenhorn on May 7. After the pizza party, the public is invited to listen to Ms. Hershenhorn's talk, Confessions and Secrets of a Children's Book Writer.
Spring Reading Clubs
Hats Off To Spring Reading Club
Start the spring with great books. Kids (infants-Grade 2) are invited to join our spring reading club which will
run from March 24 to May 3.
Book Badgers
Independent readers are invited to participate in our Book Badgers Reading Club. For every 12 books read in genres like science fiction, mystery, humor, or poetry, you receive a cool patch!
Craft Table Fun
Look for creative fun for all ages at Evergreen Interim Library and in the Children’s Department at Cook Park Library on April 17-20.
