Wireless Internet Access
The Cook Memorial Public Library District offers wireless access to the Internet for properly equipped laptops. The library's Internet Access Policy applies to all Internet use utilizing the library network.

Advantages
- You can access the Internet from different areas of the library.
- There is no waiting or time limit during library hours.
- You can download and save files on your own devices.
- You can print from your own device.
Limitations
- Library staff is unable to assist with laptops, cards or configuration.
- The signal strength may vary.
- Wireless Network is only available during library hours.
Conditions
- The Library's wireless network is not secure. Information sent from or to your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and the appropriate software, within three hundred feet.
- Virus, security, and privacy protection is the responsibility of the patron.
- Library staff is not able to provide technical assistance and no guarantee can be provided that you will be able to make a wireless connection.
- The Library assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment or for laptop configurations, security, or data files resulting from connection to the Library's network. The library is not responsible for damage, theft, or loss of any kind to a user's equipment, software, data files, or personal property.
- The library cannot guarantee that the service will be available at any specific time or that the connection will have any specific quality or speed.
- The connection shall not be used for illegal or capacity-hogging purposes.
- All library policies apply to wireless access users.
