Assisted Therapy will return to the library for children to read to them, one-on-one. You'll be amazed at how attentive the dogs are and how reading to a dog can benefit children by improving their reading fluency, as well as their confidence and self-esteem! This five-week program (dogs will be home on July 4, covering their ears against noisy fireworks) is open to accomplished, as well as beginning readers. However, neither the dogs nor their handlers will correct mistakes or provide reading instruction. Sign up for the entire five-week series, or take it one week at a time, come in, call 362-2352 ext. 773, or go to http://webres.cooklib.org to reserve your 15-minute reading slots.
