Book a Voyage to Cook Island!

Ahoy there, sailors! Don't end up marooned in the city this summer! Book a Voyage to Cook Island where salty tales, buried treasure, enchantment under the sea, and make-believe will keep you entertained for hours. Let your imagination transport you to the wonderful world of daring pirates, lush South Sea Islands, gently swaying palm trees, sparkling white sand beaches, and crystal blue waters teeming with exotic sea animals. Set sail for adventure with Captain Cook's Crew and the Children's Department! Travelers of all ages, from birth on up, are welcome. Join the Cook Memorial Public Library District for a summer full of reading, listening, and viewing fun.

Octopi your summer with great books! Children, from birth to Grade 6 (entering Fall 2006), are invited to join the Cook Castaways Reading Club and experience the adventures that books can provide. Book your voyage and sign on as a Book-aneer Baby (birth to 23 months), a Stowaway (age 2 to entering 2nd grade), or a Survivor (entering grades 3 and above.) Our ship sets sail for Cook Island, beginning Monday, June 5, 2006.

Settle down on the deck of our ship as we ply the South Seas, ye globe trotters, and get ready for adventure! Cast off for summer with exciting entertainment, storytimes, preschool and school-age programs, Crow's Nest Crafts, and much more! Keep your looking glass handy in case you spy a favorite feature on Long John Silver's Screen. Hold onto your flip-flops and sunglasses, because you*ll be itching for adventure when you discover what fun and fascinating events are in store for you. There's something for everyone, so climb aboard and sail on in any time between June 5 and July 29, 2006. Many rewards and great prize loot are in store for you!

All registered programs, storytimes and entertainment specials are for residents of the Cook Memorial Public Library District only. Children who live outside the Cook Memorial Public Library District, but attend schools within the District may join the Summer Reading Club.
