High School Page Internship

Cook Memorial Public Library District is seeking a friendly, responsible high school student to work in the Circulation Department at Cook Park and Aspen Drive libraries.

Hours:

  • Approximately 8 – 10 hours per week with evenings and weekend availability required
  • Length of position coincides with school year, and will vary, possibly continuing into summer

Responsibilities:

  • Phoning patrons regarding reserve items
  • Working at the Circulation Desk, checking materials in and out to library patrons
  • Shelving items and reserves
  • Providing assistance to patrons using copy and self-checkout machines
  • Replenishing displays and library brochures

Requirements:

  • Will be enrolled as a Junior or Senior High School Student in the fall of 2016
  • Must be able to train and work at both Cook Park and Aspen Drive libraries
  • Volunteer work in a library desirable but not mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable using computers
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good organizational skills
  • Reliable and willing to fill in extra hours when necessary

Rate of Pay:
$9.06 per hour

Volunteer applications for the school year are no longer being accepted. Applications for summer will be available at all our library facilities and online Monday, May 16. Please plan on completing an application and attending a short interview during one of the dates that will be specified on the application.

Applicants must be 12-18 years old and have their own Cook Memorial Public Library District card.
