Hello Blog Readers,

I have some BIG news to report!  We have a new person to welcome to the Children's Department at Cook Memorial Public Library and she comes to us all the way from the state of Oregon.

Please join me in welcoming Keren Joshi as our new Children's Services Manager.  She was formerly a Youth Services librarian at the Wilsonville Public Library.  (Keren is no stranger to the state of Illinois; she grew up in a nearby city. That'll really help her to know all about our crazy weather here, right?)

Rumor has it that she plays a guitar and has never heard a complaint coming from anyone in her audience of wee ones.  She reports she likes working with the older kids, too, but spares them from her string strumming - at least for now!

So, let's all show her our friendliness, okay?  Smile, chat, and make sure to tell her what your latest book favorites are these days.  In the spirit of being neighborly, ask her about her library in Wilsonville.
