Hello Readers!
I am so excited to share with you all the fun things the Children’s Department have been doing in our Storytimes this season! This past week has seen the library full of songs, rhymes and wonderful stories.
On Tuesday and Wednesday night, Miss Sue and Miss Heather share delightful stories all about families: The Family Book by Todd Parr; The Relatives Came by Cynthia Rylant; A Family Like Yours by Rebecca Kai Dotlich; and Panda Whispers by Mary Beth Owens
On Wednesday, Miss Deb took a visit to Sesame Street, sharing Big Bird’s Color Game by Tom Cooke, and singing the “Everybody Wash” song with Bert and Ernie!
On Thursday, babies enjoyed lots of fun music and fingerplays, and the great book That’s Not My Train by Fiona Watts with Miss Debbie and Miss Molly
On Tuesday and Thursday morning, Miss Debbie shared stories and songs from around the house with toddlers, reading Bunny Bungalow by Cynthia Rylant and singing this fun song:
This House is Our House
(To the tune of This Land is Your Land by Woody Guthrie)
This house is our house, this house is our house
With all these rooms where we can read.
We can read in the kitchen, or in the bathroom.
We can read in the living room, or in the bedroom.
We can read in the play room, or on the stairs,
Cozy up and read together in our house.
We all had so much fun sharing stories with you! We hope to see you in the library next week.
Happy Reading!
Miss Heather
