Scenes from Storytime, Spring!
Hello,
Spring is blooming, and so are our storytimes! We had some wonderful fun in our storytimes this past week. Here's what we did:
In Ms. Molly’s Tuesday Storytime for Babies at Aspen, children giggled and laughed at Brownie and Pearl Step Out by Cynthia Rylant and had fun with a Five Little Cupcakes fingerplay.
In Mrs. Lindahl’s Wednesday Storytime for Two-Year-Olds, listeners enjoyed Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, Little Bear by Diane Namm, and Dishes All Done by Lucia Monfried. The fingerplay Five Fat Peas was a big hit, too!
“Five Fat Peas”
Five fat peas in a pea pod pressed (hold hand in fist)
One grew, two grew, and so did all the rest (put out fingers from closed fist one at a time)
They grew and grew (raise hand in air slowly)
And did not stop.
Until one day the pod went
POP! (clap hands)
At Ms. Sue’s Wednesday Nighttime Storytime for Families, children enjoyed visiting the farm by reading The Cow Who Clucked by Denise Fleming, Misery Moo by Jeanne Willis, and Click, Clack, Moo by Doreen Cronin. The fingerplay for Five Little Cows was fun to learn, too!
This Little Cow
This little cow eats grass
This little cow eats hay
This little cow looks over the bridge
This little cow runs away
And this little cow does nothing at all
But lie in the fields all day
For Ms. Debbie’s Thursday Storytimes for both Babies and Toddlers, children loved listening to Pickin’ Peas by Margaret MacDonald, and singing along to If You’re Hoppy by April Sayre.
At Ms. Heather’s Wednesday Storytime for Three to Six Years-Old, children enjoyed hearing The Cow Loves Cookies by Karma Wilson, Misery Moo by Jeanne Willis and The Cow Who Clucked by Denise Fleming, as well as singing along to Old MacDonald Had a Farm.
We hope you enjoyed sharing stories with us this week!
Miss Heather
