Since opening in 2010, the Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills has been a popular destination, attracting over 250,000 visitors annually and filling a need for library services in the southern part of the library district. Regular visitors to Aspen know that its popularity has brought about challenges, including inadequate space for children and limited quiet areas for adults.
Since an expansion project was approved by the Library Board in early 2018, we have been hard at work planning and designing space at Aspen to provide a building to better meet your needs. The project will include a new addition to accommodate a dedicated and significantly larger children’s area, along with reconfigured space in the existing building to better serve adults and students.
