Emily Stensloff

As a kid, I was always eagerly awaiting the next fantasy tome or series to get my hands on. Now that I’m older, I’ve found that I’ve not changed all that much! I am a huge fan of horror and fairy tale retellings, though I’ve been known to snag historical fiction and plays off the shelves as well.

In addition to books, I’m also a big movie fan. I’m just as likely to pick up a Tarkovsky classic as a movie where a big creature stomps around a city. I love unlikely genres and formats as vehicles for storytelling, which is why I’m so drawn to horror and fantasy stories.

I’ve been known to talk forever about gothic stories, both historical and contemporary, books and movies. I’ve done the math: almost 5% of my personal library collection is copies of Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. So, if you’re ever looking for a new suggestion that features mysterious noises in the attic, potential ghosts, and or a house that has a long history – I’m your person!
