Workshop Policy

The Cook Memorial Public Library (CMPLD) Workshop is available for use to CMPLD card-holders and reciprocal borrowers who have registered their card with the library. Use of The Workshop is limited to patrons 14 years and up. Patrons under the age of 14 wishing to use The Workshop must be accompanied by an adult caregiver above the age of 14 who will be present at all times. Additionally, all patrons wishing to use The Workshop will be required to sign a waiver that will be kept on file for access by library staff.

Workshop activities and programs may result in risk of personal injury or harm to myself. Cook Memorial Public Library District officers, employees, volunteers, committees and Board of Trustees, are held harmless from and against any and all liability, loss, damages, claims or actions (including attorney’s fees and court costs) for bodily injury and/or property damage, to the extent permissible by law.

Patrons are financially responsible for any equipment damages resulting from negligent, reckless, or wrongful use. This indemnification and hold harmless agreement shall include indemnity against all costs (including, without limitation, attorney’s fees and court costs), expenses and liabilities incurred in connection with any such claim or proceeding brought thereon and in defense thereof, or other claims brought by third parties (including other participating patrons) if related to my actions.

Additionally, by submitting content or objects for printing on the library’s 3D printer, the customer agrees to assume all responsibility for, and shall hold the library harmless in, all matters related to patented, trademarked, or copyrighted materials. Patrons working on projects using The Workshops green screen are also welcome to use resources available in the library’s Digital Studios, which provides access to a range of creative software, equipment to digitize various media, and a recording booth.
