Andrea’s Christmas Reads

It’s time once again for my fifth annual Holiday Reads blog post. This is my attempt to spread holiday cheer by recommending heartwarming books with happy endings. Who wants to read anything depressing in December? It’s Christmastime! So here we go.

The Gift of a Charm by Melissa Hillgift of charm
Irish author Hill creates a romantic, surprising tale set in Manhattan for the holidays. When Holly O’Neill finds a charm bracelet in the pocket of a vintage coat, she is determined to find its owner. Her search takes her all over New York City, and leads her to Greg, an artist with ties to the bracelet. Library Journal calls this book “a magical tale of love and family.”

home for christmasHome for Christmas by Lily Everett
Libby Leeds is a magazine columnist who writes about her idyllic life in Sanctuary Island – only she hasn’t actually been there since she was a child. When an assignment forces her to host a military veteran at her “home” on Sanctuary Island, she returns and reconnects with family, while getting to know Owen Shepard, the war hero, and his daughter. This book is romantic, funny and charming.

Kissing Christmas Goodbye by M.C. Beatonkissing christmas goodbye
Beaton’s private detective Agatha Raisin is trying to rise above her normally grumpy ways to put together the perfect Christmas dinner. But before she can even start roasting the goose, she takes on an intriguing new case and a talented young assistant, which show her that Christmas spirit can turn up in some unexpected places.

Winter Stroll by Elin Hilderbrandwinter stroll
In this sequel to Hilderbrand’s 2014 Christmas novel, Winter Street, Hilderbrand returns to the story of the Quinns, innkeepers on Nantucket Island. Kelley, the family’s patriarch, receives a surprise visit from his ex-wife, who is questioning her decision to leave him last Christmas. Kelley’s daughter, Ava, is dealing with her ex-boyfriend, and his son, Kevin, has welcomed a new baby with his wife, Isabelle. In true Hilderbrand fashion, this promises to be a fun, heartfelt family drama.
