In-Library
- Hearing loop — allows a wireless signal to be picked up by hearing aids when set to ‘T’ (for Telecoil)
- Portable Video Magnifiers with text to speech to use in the Library or check out. See the Information Desk.
- NVDA screen reader software installed on all public computers.
- Small carts to assist in carrying materials
- Drive-up windows at both locations to pick up holds
Additional
- Home Delivery — For patrons who are unable to come to the library due to a disability.
- Talking Books and Braille Service (TBBS) — Through TBBS from the Illinois State Library, Illinois residents who are visually impaired may be eligible to receive free audio and braille material via mail or digital download. The Library can provide applications for this state and nationally run service. Pick up an application at the Information Desk, online, or by calling TBBS at 800-426-0709.

- Films and Television for the deaf or hard of hearing — these videos have English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) and/or English closed-captioning (CC)

The Library has selected the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1, level AA, as its accessibility standard, and strives to conform to the WCAG standard to ensure our digital offers are accessible.
