Ep. 29: Marlon Brando’s coming of age in Libertyville

brando-wild-one

The Academy Awards are this weekend, so it seemed fitting to talk about some local history that connects Libertyville to Hollywood. Did you know Marlon Brando spent a large chunk of his teen years as a rebellious troublemaker at LHS?

Joe, one of our adult services librarians, discusses how Brando ended up in Libertyville and shares a few of the wild one’s greatest pranks.

Read Joe’s full blog post A Kid Named Bud, then check out a Marlon Brando movie from the library! Joe also wrote a great history of the Liberty Theater Brando worked at.
