The Workshop at CMPLD can be found in the lower level at Cook Park and provides many materials for design and production. Creative programs are already on their way and open lab hours begin January 12th from 9am to 1pm. A Tech Aide will be available to answer questions and assist every Saturday morning (except February 2nd). View the events calendar for more details about programs.
If you’ve read previous blogposts about the new makerspace but none of them sparked an interest, perhaps you’d be more inclined to check out the programming/production equipment available for in-library use.
Here are the devices available in the Workshop:
Ozobots
These nifty little robots are programmed with OzoBlockly language and move around using optical and proximity sensors. Ozobots can even work together on more convoluted tasks! New to programming? Ozobots are a perfect introductory gadget.
Lego Mindstorm Robotics Kit
“With its easy-to-use EV3 Software running the EV3 Intelligent Brick, a compact and powerful programmable computer working in tandem with five Servo Motors and multiple sensors. If you can imagine it, you can build it!”
Green Screen Video Lighting Kit
Interested in production? This kit allows special effects and awesome backgrounds in your videos. CMPLD provides cameras to check out and editing software in the Digital Studios. Reserve some time and edit away!
Come check out the Workshop on your next Saturday trip to Cook Park!
