What is a Roku?

A Roku player is a little device that connects to your home network and streams music, movies, and TV shows from the Internet, right to your TV. You can read more about the device on the Roku website.

How’s it work?

Roku devices connect to your television via an included HDMI cable and use your home Internet connection to stream online video you choose to watch on your TV. Use the Roku’s remote control to find and select content. Library Rokus come with a constantly updated collection of the latest movies, accessible through the installed VUDU app, and also provide full access to Netflix.

Cool! How do I check one out?

Use our catalog to see if a Roku is available. Must be 14 or older and have a valid CMPLD library card to check out. We anticipate these will be popular, so you might need to place a hold and we’ll let you know when one is ready. If you’re in the library stop by the Reference Desk at Aspen or the Lower Level Reference Desk at Cook Park to check one out.

How long can I keep it?

Check out period is 7 days with a late fee of $5.00 per day. You can renew twice IF no one else is waiting for one.

Rokus must be returned to the Lower Level Reference Desk at Cook Park or the Aspen Drive Reference Desk.
