Do you like to read eBooks, listen to eAudiobooks, or watch movies online? Then, you may already know that the library subscribes to various platforms that make online reading and viewing possible. Perhaps you have even used Hoopla?
Many people associate Hoopla with online videos and streaming music, and it IS a great source for those! However, Hoopla also has a lot of eBooks that are worthy of exploring. This includes over 300 genealogy eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eVideos! The popular Tracing Your Ancestors series is included in this tally. For example, you can read Tracing Your Pauper Ancestors, Tracing Your Shipbuilding Ancestors, and even Tracing Your Nonconformist Ancestors. There a quite a few Scottish genealogy, DNA, and how-to books as well. Finally, this online collection also includes several fiction titles and memoirs. If you are interested in watching online videos, Hoopla has genealogy videos, too, like Finding Your Roots, Discovering Your Roots: An Introduction to Genealogy (a Great Courses series), and Secrets, Lies, and DNA Ties. Basically, Hoopla has something for every genealogist!
How can I use this amazing resource, you ask? All you will need is your Cook Memorial Public Library District card to sign up! Then, you can check out up to 10 items from Hoopla each month, and they will be available for 3 weeks (eBooks/eAudiobooks) or 3 days (eVideos).
