Purpose of the Library: The Library serves as a public resource dedicated to providing access to information, educational materials, and community services. The Library supports lifelong learning, promotes literacy, and offers programs and resources that meet the informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community. As a public body under the IL Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140), the Library maintains records related to its operations and governance and provides public access to those records in accordance with the law.

13. Compensation
    Pursuant to Illinois statute (5 ILCS 120/7.3), a list of employees whose total compensation package exceeds $75,000 annually is available for inspection during business hours at the District’s administrative office, located at 413 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville, IL. Additionally, an employee’s total proposed compensation package that exceeds $150,000 annually is available at least six days before approval by the Board of Trustees. “Total compensation package” includes salary, employer-paid health insurance premiums, and earned vacation/sick leave.

    The Library does not employ any lobbyists or pay for any organizations to lobby on its behalf. However, the library has institutional memberships with the American Library Association and the Illinois Library Association which do lobby.
